For most of us, our homes are the biggest material investments we will make. Home renovating or designing a new home from the ground up is a daunting task. A big part of any renovation or new building is the appliances, fittings and fixtures. In this industry led workshop, you will learn the key things you need to know about fitting out your home with appliances, bathroom-ware and homewares before you have to engage with architects, designer or builders.

In this engaging and hands-on series, you will be introduced to the fundamental aspects of home design, empowering yourself with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions. From cutting-edge technologies to discerning product quality, you will explore the intricate balance of space and style, helping you curate the perfect ensemble of appliances, bathroom-ware, and homewares.

The series of workshops will be held at the Winning Academy Training Centre in Waterloo.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

• Identify key technologies associated with a wide range of appliances and bathroom ware.
• Demonstrate understanding of the scheduling process involved in fitting out appliances, bathroom ware, and homewares.
• Describe the artisanal process behind specific appliances, bathroom ware, and homewares.

Analyse and evaluate space, practicality, and style considerations when selecting appliances, bathroom- ware, and homewares for a given setting.

What will be covered in this home planning and designing course:

Session 1:

• Introduction to the team and exploration of consideration and questions each learner has (including a look at plans and ideas each learner has)
• Tour of Winnings showroom - identifying some of the key technologies of appliances, bathroomware and homewares. We will demystify the selection process.
• Look at the planning process when fitting out your home.
• Enable learners with the resources and ideas they need to make educated selections of appliances, bathroomware and homewares.

Session 2:

• Explore the key technologies of appliances
• Touch on the scheduling process
• Understand space, practical and style considerations when selecting your choice of appliances.

Session 3:

• Explore the key technologies of bathroomware
• Understand space, practical and style considerations when selecting your choice of bathroomware.

Session 4:

• Explore the artisanal process behind particular particular homewares
• Look at aspects of textiles, design and lighting.
• Understand space, practical and style considerations when selecting your choice of homewares.

This course is for anyone who is preparing for a building project, or who wants to gain an understanding of the processes behind home building and renovating.
